This weekend got real interesting around 9:30 Friday night when I received a phone call and the first words I heard were, “oh my god, have you seen the Windsor Star.com?” My response was, “who is this?” and no.” Well, I got informed that our Rock Mornings Billboard had made the paper under the title.. “Disgusting.” Geez, I might be a tad overweight, but I hadn’t put myself in the disgusting category yet. Then the good people of Windsor started to respond and didn’t stop till over 500 of you had your say. Saturday and Sunday came and went, and it was all I seemed to talk about. Not only for me, but my family as well. My youngest boy told me that his teammates were laughing and joking with him during hockey practice about his naked billboard dad and my oldest son was at his friends house Saturday night and when I went to pick him up, the first thing he said to me was..”Guess what the topic of conversation was all night?” I guessed right… Tubby pops and his coconuts.. Luckily all the banter over the billboard with my sons was light hearted and everyone seemed to think it was funny, great, eye catching, controversial and gutsy……. That’s gutsy like brave…not fat. Anyhow I spent a big chunk of the weekend reading your comments and the thing I love about bloggers is that they say what they are truly thinking… From positive comments, to negative to downright cruel. Heres an example from the cruel category… Someone actually said they felt sorry for the women we have to sleep with! Well, you don’t have to be, because when my wife and I hit the bed, there ain’t much sleepin going on! Ya know what I’m sayin! I’m surprised I have time to work, what with all the lovin going down. After reading most of your thoughts, I decided I would put together my top 10 favorite.. … So here ya go… My list of the best comments about our “Nuts” billboard… I guess you could call it a Craigslist… #10 SWEEEEEEET!!! #9 Not funny, not thought-provoking, just gross. #8 Peanut shells would have worked as well, Pally. #7 Out of all the unemployed men in Windsor this is the best they can do? YUCK! #6 Craig and Matt who? #5 Where’s the pic of the chick? #4 If you’re looking to catch the eye of a woman between 18 and 54, usually two ugly naked guys doesn’t do it. #3 You think that’s such a horrifying picture, you should see them by Craig’s pool. (hey, who’s been naughty and spying in my backyard?) #2 Tasteless and ignorant just like their show. And my number 1 favorite response to our billboards…….. #1 Maybe it will keep my girls away from boys. |

Guys, Do not worry about all the cry babies in the Windsor area that have nothing better to do with their time than pick on a totally awsome billboard pic. I had to drive by the Walker road location to see it for myself and I for one found it hilarious. I would suggest to all the people who find this picture offensive or tasteless to stop staring up when they should be payiing attention with their eyes on the road.These are the same people who go to strip clubs and complain about nudity.Keep up the great work and keep us laughing!
I listen to the rock pretty much every day. I hear a lot of news, and interesting facts. There is one thing I heard today that set off the tea pot. I’ve heard a lot of talk of a new billboard. A LOT! After hearing what everyone had to say, I had to go check it out myself. After seeing the ‘lovely’ new billboard, I have a few things to say.
). Do your kids have a computer? No? Well they have one at school. and you can bet they are online too. and what about cable tv? at 9 pm i’ve seen dating infomercials, and phone sex infomercials with girls breasts popping out of their shirts. and men that want to date men. I’m not trying to start a huge argument but why do we allow such vulgarity and not a billboard. I think its time these people get over their ego, and bitch about some real problems. my final note, we have drunk surgeons harassing staff, and other surgeons doing unnecesary surgeries, but all we can focus on is a damn billboard.
If the general public wasn’t so darn ignorant, this billboard would not be a problem. (ignorant in the literal sence, a lack of knowledge) Educate. The billboard does not actually show, or imply anything. SEE THEY ARE NUTS. Whats wrong with that? What about the beach, we have topless women walking around (not that I’M complaining) and men with speedo’s (
I first saw your Billboard on Thursday while I was sitting at a red light. I can’t believe people are so offended! My first thought was actually how cool it is that you guys are confident enough to put your whole selves out there on a billboard. Certainly a step above the group showers in the men’s locker room!
If what I hear is true, the billboard company wants it down. I really hope they just put a “Too hot to handle sign” over the good parts!
I am very upset by this billboard. I try to protect my kids from certain TV and computer sites that are disgusting, but how can I protect them when we are driving down the road and see that kind of trash in full view? Please, have a little respect for those that don’t find this kind of thing “amusing”. If I want to see this kind of thing, I can go to a porn site. I am embarrassed for Windsor…is that what Windsor stands for? I hope we have a bit more morality left than that.

How long are you going to “protect” your kids? I am a father myself, so I understand wanting to “protect” your children. But i also remember many many moons ago when i was in school, and the stuff that i heard and saw on the playground was horrific compared to this billboard. You should not be trying to protect your kids, you should be educating your children!! Do you refuse your kids the fun stuff in life? Going to the beach, the mall, the playground, the amusement park, a ball game, a bike ride, school, internet, television??? The list will go on and on and on, and if we don’t educate our children to understand that this billboard is a joke, then how the hell do we expect our kids to survive this world??
I think the billboard is great! It’s accomplished what you set out, it’s gotten attention. I listen to your station all day at work and when I’m in the car. Craig and Matt are hysterical, and I love the billboard! Don’t change it!

About this whole billboard thing. I have one statement to the people who are upset or offended. “Get a life for Christmas….it’s a joke! It’s what these 2 guys do!” Are we such a puratin society all of a sudden? Have people not watched TV lately? There’s more skin on beer commercials and some music video’s, never mind the movie networks after 11:00. I am more offended watching a sporting event and being subjected to ads for FDS and tampons than I am at seeing to comedians holding cocconuts to hide their privates. It reminds me of the time the Dixie Chicks (who I don’t listen to) were lambasted in the media for posing nude, yet revealing no private areas, on the cover of some magazine for DEFENDING FREEDOM OF SPEECH! Keep up the good work guys, because the ones crying foul over this don’t listen to your show anyway, and still wouldn’t even if you were wearing tuxedo’s.

Hey guys, so i’m just hearing about this now, and i think it’s rediculous. I think the billboard was cute, and funny! Nothing wrong with showing what real men look like! I just think it’s really funny that there’s such a double standard – why is there no complaints about the hot chick billboard??? People really need to grow up…if you’re against billboards of naked people, be against naked men and women. Don’t call the naked men disgusting and the naked woman tasteful! I think both adds are great, and I love your show! You guys are the best! Keep on keepin’ us laughin’!
i say boo to the ..company who put the billboards up, and then took them down just because a few people complained. The rock paid for these advertising spots and pattison had to know what they were putting up on these billboards when they went up, so why did they pull them down when a few whiney little biatches cried “it’s corrupting my kids” . It’s not the billboards that’s corrupting your kids; it comes from having anal retentive parents like you that does it. you sad sacks really need to develop some kind of sense of humor, you’ll live a longer and happier life. I hope you have a miserable day ya bunch of whiney crybabies. the next time you decide to squack about something, take a look in the mirror because even fully clothed you complainers have offended me, so who do I complain to so that I can have you removed?

Your next billboard should have a giant black bar across it (from the bottom left to the top right) with the word “CENSORED”, The Rock logo at the top left corner, and at the bottom right corner the words “Pleasing All The People All The Time!”

Recently Matt spoke of another negative comment in the Windsor Star that suggested in the Rose city there should be a rose on their billboard instead of the not so family oriented,nuts.
Might I suggest a new billboard with Craig and Matt holding the stem of some roses, so tightly that there is some blood dripping down their wrists. The caption above would read “Grabbing Windsor By The Thorns” and below, Thornings with Craig and Matt! ( Crossing out the Th in Thornings and putting an M above)
I dont understand why people make so many comments about Craig and Matt’s so called “Man-boobs” via. windsorstar.com … ive seen WORSE examples of WOMAN’S and MEN’s breasts at the beach and the carnival.
Im offended that they had to REMOVE the “they’re NUTS” billboard but could keep the “naked” lady one up. Since when is a NATURAL MALE body so OFFENSIVE???

Your billboard like your morning show is great. You have awesome nuts. The guys and I at work have many laughs all morning. I’ve seen more disgusting things in the check out lines at wal-mart or when someone bends over to get something off the bottom shelf in a grocery (gross-ery) store. Keep me laughing and I’ll keep listening.
