Tougher Laws Sought

Protesters Set To MarchA noon-hour march is planned for today in Windsor,calling on Ottawa to instill tougher animal cruelty laws. Organizer Tammy Deslauriers says something needs to be done after a dog was sexually abused in the city earlier this week. The dog’s owner 51-year-old Anjalo Abeywickrema is charged. Abeywickrema was out on parole for manslaughter in an unrelated case. Today’s march is in the area of Ouelette Avenue and Riverside Drive.
