Tornado Touches Down In Leamington
Jun 06 2010 | 2 years ago | Add Comment

A State of emergency has been issued for Leamington after a tornado stuck the area early this morning.

So far no injuries have been reported, but damage is extensive.  Barricades have been put up all around town as crews work to clean up the mess.  Deputy Fire Chief Chuck Parsons is advising people to stay away from the area and to not clean up the debris.  Environment Canada is sending a crew to Leamington to assess the damage and they will determine if in fact it was a tornado that struck the area around 3:30am this morning.  They’re expected to arrive in town this afternoon.  The power is out for most of  Leamington.  No word when it will be restored.
