Concern Over Long Term Beds
Sep 10 2010 | 1 year ago | 2 Comments

A shortage of long-term care beds in the community is leading to a shortage of beds at Windsor Regional Hospital.

It means more patients end up waiting in emergency for a bed to become available.

Vice President of Acute Care Services, Karen McCullough says the number of long-term care patients using acute care beds has doubled over the last 6 months.

One short term solution is to provide support for elderly patients in their homes.
