The saying is “idle hands are the devil’s workshop” and local candidates in Monday’s federal election are taking it to heart.
In the riding of Essex, candidates running for the three biggest political parties are planning to canvas as the clock ticks down.
Incumbent MP Conservative Jeff Watson says he’s knocking on doors in Lighthouse Cove. Liberal candidate Nelson Santos is campaigning in Amherstburg where he will be attending the birthday party of a 95 year old supporter. The NDP’s Taras Natyshak says he’ll be doing a lot of walking this weekend too as well as spending a lot of time on the phone in a bid to drum up a few more votes.
