If you find yourself yawning a lot this morning, you’re likely in good company.

Tens of thousands of people on both sides of the border made it a late night last night watching the 53rd annual Target International Fireworks display along the Detroit River.

The evening also offered a unique treat on the Canadian side of the border: a flash mob.  About 200 dancers took part in a public display to the tune of “Fireworks” by pop singer Katy Perry.

Derek Petro has been coming since the very first display in 1950′s and marvels how it’s changed over the years.  “The variety of the fireworks seems to get better.  I think they started with one barge.  They’re up to three now.  It just keeps getting more spectacular.”
