The president of the Chatham-Kent Gay Pride Association says the group will not support the Occupy Timmies protest on Thursday.

Rick Renaud says while CK Pride does support the lesbian couple at the centre of the Blenheim Tim Hortons controversy, he thinks the entire situation has been blown out of proportion.

“Our group will not be present at the rally,” says Renaud. “We basically have put a news release out there just that an apology should have been given. And it already has been given. And management has given them an apology too.”

He says CK Pride is asking Tim Hortons to provide its staff with diversity training, to make better judgement calls in the future.
