The Top Ten Biggest Musical Turnoffs

Filed under: Alex Scott — ascott @ 2:36 pm

Tastebuds.fm recently conducted a poll to determine the Top 10 Musical Turnoffs according to their users.  The site defined these acts as, quote, “The bands you just can’t stand . . . REALLY can’t stand.”

Perhaps not surprisingly, NICKELBACK came in at #1 . . . followed by JUSTIN BIEBER(–OK, so Canada = Good at healthcare, bad at fostering good music.)

Here’s the Top 10, which is filled with some predictable names:

1.)  Nickelback

2.)  Justin Bieber

3.)  Lady Gaga

4.)  Ke$ha

5.)  Coldplay

6.)  U2

7.)  Creed

8.)  Katy Perry

9.)  Lil Wayne

10.)  Britney Spears.

Friday Nov 25

Great show last night in Thunder Bay

Hopped on the bus and dropped off a couple members who wanted to fly to Toronto…I opted for the bus drive

Looooong haul after the gig. Drove on what felt like the moon surface

Stopped in S.S.Marie so the driver can sleep…and we spend the day doing some accounting, banking, and recovering from last night’s debaucherie.

Bus leave at 1am for Toronto

Saturday Nov 26

Arrived in Toronto at around 10am…another crappy sleep…Northern Ontario roads need work.

Hotel is always very cool with me, I’m here every other weekend.

We actually snagged FREE bus parking (a $150.00 per day savings) right next to the hotel…sweet~thank you closed street due to road work!

Laundry day…Double soap..this is gig clothing.

Heading off to a Crash Karma meeting at Turner’s Pocket Studio’s…a bit of a bitch fest, but ended well, and the tunes are truly kicking…

Dinner with Amir at Rol San on Dundas…his favorite, so we oicked up Nicholas and chowed heavily

Good night

Sunday Nov 27

Day off ~ felt great to sleep in a real bed that wasn’t moving : )

Great workout…but missing the Family

Did all my ironing for the week ahead…that was great; I love ironing…weird

Very nice dinner with my son Nicholas at a Thai place..Hot&Sour soup and fresh rolls

Early to bed…Kitchener show tomorrow

Monday Nov 28

Kitchener Show day

Early morning wake up to work out

Quick breakfast downstairs….COFFEE

Bus call at 11:00am…on the road again…down the 401

I remember this club…another gutted theatre…with the stench of old draft beer in the air

Great sound check, and a few more interviews during the day…Meet and greets begin tonight also.

Killer show, with an old soundman friend at the monitor desk made life real easy on stage

Great to see some very old friends post show including a buddy I’ve known since I was 3! : )

Back on the bus and heading back to hub out of Toronto since most our crew lives there…and we get a homebase without lugging our bags and luggage all over the place

Tuesday Nov 29

WoW! Very very early wake up call this morning…3 1/2 hours sleep…

Don’t feel much like working out but…off I go….Feel as though I’m going to be sick

Quick shower and breakfast with Nicholas

Bus call for 10am

On the road to London…I crawl into my my bunk and try to get a bit more rest…feeling shitty

Sound check is a bit extended as we’re working out another set list and acoustics for the Toronto, Montreal and Hamilton shows…good fun.

Did an interview with a journalist who’s writing a story on my son Nicholas, along with a quick photo shoot…He sent me some nice keepsake shots of he and I…cool

Lots of friends coming out to this one..it’s jammed..great time

Back on the bus for a 1am departure back to Toronto..some of the guys from The Reason hopped on board for a lift back and a couple pints…

Finally to bed at 4am (ish) and needing sleep in a bad way….

Wednesday Nov 30

Day off today…up late and blogging…like right now.

More laundry, banking, bill paying, gear fixing workout running, and errands to deal with…

Check you all for the “wrap up” in a few days!
