Last minute negotiations are keeping 24-hour emergency care on Pelee Island.
The LHIN and the Harrow Family Health Team were able to reach a temporary agreement. Mayor Rick Masse says there will be a nurse in place until January 15th.
“It’s going to bridge a gap ’til the Ministry makes a decision on the recommendations within the Task Force and we’re hoping that those can start being implemented as early as next week,” says Masse.
The Task Force provided recommendations like having an on-call nurse 24/7 and improving transportation protocols.
