After another night of drawn out discussion, Chatham-Kent council managed little in the way of meaningful cuts.
The single largest was a 25% reduction to the street sweeping program across the municipality, a savings of $107,000. Also cut was some summer student hours at a savings of a little more thanĀ $15,000.
On the other side of things, council decided to implement an $8 fee for letters mailed out to people whose property taxes are in arrears. That will up revenue by about $60,000.
With at least one more night to go the Chatham-Kent property tax hike sits at 2.49%
